Position Summary

The Architectural Visualization Specialist is responsible for creating renderings and animations of proposed capital projects and smaller campus projects for Washington University. This position requires expertise in architectural design software, strong visualization skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the University Architect and other Facilities Planning and Management (FPM) team members.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees planning, design, and construction projects for designated specialty area(s) and ensures all WUSM Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection and Construction Standards are upheld.

  • Works closely and continuously with OFMD leadership as well as senior leadership of designated specialty area(s) and OFMD team members to ensure seamless campus project integration and construction. Works with the OFMD space intake coordinator to manage and vet all requests for designated specialty area.

  • Implements departmental policies and guidelines associated with the Physical Planning and Project Delivery Process for their areas of responsibility.

  • Manages communication, planning, and project implementation. Closes out projects in a timely manner, including collection of as-builts, warranty tracking, O&M manuals and final project cost information. Provides consulting and problem-solving support to Facilities Operations on all completed projects under their responsibility.

  • Partners with OFMD team members in planning initiatives including facilities renewal items, renovations and/or new construction.

  • Serves as a mentor and an advisor to the Project Managers. Provides direction and advice on project details as required.

  • Supports 5-year capital planning process including representation for their assigned area, five-year plan development, needs identification and cost estimating, as applicable.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$75,200.00 - $128,800.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
