About you

The Director of Content Marketing will define and execute SGNL's content strategy to establish the company as the definitive voice of Continuous Identity. You will build and lead a comprehensive content supply chain—from research and ideation through creation, distribution, and optimization—that transforms content from isolated campaigns into strategic business assets with measurable ROI. This role requires a strategic executive who can translate complex identity security concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with enterprise buyers while building a high-performing content engine that drives pipeline, establishes thought leadership, and influences industry conversations. This role also requires a demonstrated comfort level within technical spaces and markets, given the importance of expertise and accuracy for our brand.

You will own the end-to-end content strategy, building, leading, and growing an in-house content team and selected set of contractors and agencies. This is a highly visible role requiring someone who can present marketing strategy and insights to C-suite executives, serve as the marketing voice in company-wide strategic discussions, and establish SGNL's position in the evolving identity security landscape.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in content marketing or communications with at least 3 years in leadership roles developing and executing comprehensive content strategies for B2B SaaS companies
  • Minimum 3 years marketing to large enterprise organizations (Fortune 1000, Global 2000), with deep understanding of complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes
  • Expertise in identity security, cybersecurity, or equally technical markets with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated success building and implementing content supply chains or systematic content frameworks that deliver measurable business results and ROI
  • Track record of establishing thought leadership and industry influence through strategic content initiatives and partnerships, with examples of content that shaped market conversations
  • Experience managing teams, including hiring, developing talent, and managing contractors/agencies, with readiness to scale a team
  • Deep expertise in SEO and content distribution, including understanding of search algorithms, keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, and emerging concepts like GEO and LLM optimization
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy and community engagement, including experience building brand presence on platforms like LinkedIn, X (Twitter), YouTube, and leveraging technical communities and forums (Reddit, Slack communities, etc.) for brand awareness, education, and demand generation
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience using marketing analytics tools, attribution models, and data visualization to measure content ROI, inform strategy, and make data driven decisions (and decisions when there is a lack of data)
  • Strong bias for action and ability to navigate ambiguity. For example, experienced and able at determining plans and goals, and putting the pieces in place in areas that haven’t existed before.
  • Experience with content research and ideation tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Profound, Google Trends) to validate content opportunities required
  • Can operate at both executive, strategic level and ground-level execution, knowing when each is needed
  • Exceptional communication skills. Can present to C-suite, write compelling content, and articulate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences
  • Experienced in collaborative leadership, building strong cross-functional relationships and drives alignment across teams
  • Passion for innovation and learning. Stays current on content marketing trends, distribution channels, and emerging technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Certifications in content marketing, SEO, or related areas are a plus
  • Experience in identity security, cybersecurity, or highly technical B2B domains is highly preferred
