JOB SUMMARY: The Driver is responsible for providing safe and courteous transportation for the residents to various activities and events: doctor appointments, airport, etc. The Driver will also assist in the mail room as needed.

- Ensure safe operation of the vehicle in compliance with the manufactures specifications and preventative maintenance schedule.
- Reports any malfunctions to their supervisor and seeks repairs of these malfunctions per supervisor’s instructions.
- Driver maintains all records related to bus operations.
- Understands and adheres to manufactures guidelines for safe use of wheelchair lift, i.e., QSTAINT anchoring.
- Conducts pre- and post-trip inspections before operating the bus, including documentation of trips.
- Responsible for transporting residents to/from assigned destinations using Plymouth Place vehicles.
- Coordinates planned daily activates with staff.
- Responsible for fueling the bus according to trip guidelines and turning receipts into supervisor.
- Communicates emergencies with community staff as needed.
- Support other key areas such as Life Enrichment or Hospitality.
- Oversees internal conditions of the bus, to include sweeping, and picking up trash.
- Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all Plymouth Place policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of safe driving techniques with a sense of direction in locating destinations locally and out of town.
- Ability to use GPS app
- Demonstrated experience with handicap accessible bus, including lift operations and wheelchair anchors.
- Ability to work with a senior population.
- Demonstrated clean driving record (Motor Vehicle Report)
- Ability to prioritize assigned schedules and meet time demands.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Illinois driver’s license
