RCOH trades teams provide expert solutions on shipboard alterations and installations for fleet modernization. The selected Outside Machinist/Mechanic candidate will support RCOH, working closely with our skilled trades teams, on surface ships, utilizing various tools of the trade, removing, installing and upgrading industrial systems and equipment.
What You Will Do
- Display levels of quality, integrity, safety, respect, engagement and performance consistent with company values.
- Support trades team by working on active class surface ships to assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization.
- Install, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment and mounting structure.
- Assist in a variety of installation, maintenance and technical support on products such as shipboard systems, integrated systems and related equipment at company, customer and/or field locations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
- Apply understanding of production and processes to assignments.
- Perform a variety of simple and complicated tasks related to shipboard maintenance.
- Perform duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
What You Must Have
- High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 2 years of related experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
- Candidate must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
- Candidate must have experience installing, maintaining and repairing structural and mechanical systems and associated equipment.
- Candidate must have experience using various power tools and measurement devices.
- Candidate must have the ability to read, interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings and/or technical manuals.
- Candidate must have knowledge of safety and quality control steps and procedures.
