As a Lead Member of Technical Staff, you will be responsible for applying the advanced engineering and scientific knowledge to architecture, design and development work in a Research and Development environment for high-value technology and solutions tied to the strategic direction of the company.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Requires 24x7 on call from escalating organizations.

  • Work must primarily involve new and emerging technologies and technical architectures on projects with a status between inception and implementation/software maturity.

  • Responsible for architecture, architecture design or assessment, standards, systems design, technical assessment or requirements, system development, analysis and testing of infrastructure and services that use network and systems technologies, applications development, software design and development, and/or systems integration testing.

  • Serve as subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering and development.

  • Provide operational requirements, review, and signoff for CTO designs.

  • Design equipment and software certification testing.

  • Evaluate, manage, and develop mitigation solutions for new technology introduction risks.

  • Responsible for the development, testing, training and handoff of detailed methods and procedures for new technology introduction to partner implementation organizations.

  • Utilize Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for automation development to enable rapid feature deployment.

  • Utilize playbooks and programming languages to create custom tools for network operations and address operational gaps.

  • Develop troubleshooting guides and provide coaching/development training for new technology and designs.

  • Gather and analyze relevant network element field data to validate the expected improvements and features of the field changes.

  • Key network support functions include, but not limited to, resolving critical outages, evaluating failure modes, and leading root cause analysis investigations.

  • Care for overall health of the end-to-end network via the development of network performance metrics; advanced data analytics; and identification, tracking and resolution of chronic issues.

  • Provides the technical troubleshooting and leadership skills required to recover from the most complex network problems in real time, directing the activities of technical resources from Tier 2, CTO, and the vendors to restore service.

  • Drive problem management initiatives to solve complex issues that span multiple organizations which may include problem recreation, identification of fixes, certification of fixes and/or design changes.

  • Develop network automation to pro-actively identify defect signatures; define the least intrusive recovery processes; extract forensic data from network elements and apply advanced data analytic skills to identify patterns of unexpected behavior.

  • Leverage data driven approach to influence business decisions to provide the best technical decisions.

  • Responsible for all production equipment and software vendor management relationships ensuring objectives are met, including vendor performance feedback during contract negotiations.

  • Will lead cross-functional teams in support of technology insertion and root cause analysis investigations and will be expected to be the technical subject matter expert on special projects.

  • May interact with customers virtually or in person to outline or recommend technical solutions for their business or explaining root cause of a network event.

Required Experience:

  • 5-8 years’ experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience of extensive knowledge of server load balancing

  • 5+ years’ experience technical writing that is clear, easy to follow, and concise

  • In-depth knowledge of the OSI model
