Airgas is Hiring for a Production Operator in McAllen, TX!

The Production Operator 2 is responsible for operating various pieces of equipment to fill cylinders and tubes with gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, propane, butane, and other specialty gases in a safe and efficient manner. This position may also be required to perform routine maintenance on equipment and facility. The Production Operator 2 will also maintain appropriate records and documentation.

• Fill cylinders/tubes with various gases
• Conduct quality checks on filled cylinders/tubes
• Operate fork truck or other material handling equipment
• Prepare and operate equipment used to clean and purge cylinders/tubes
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and facility
• Maintain accurate production and maintenance records
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts

Are you a MATCH?

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen is required.

• Physical ability to perform duties requiring moderate to high levels of energy and mobility; includes lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally is required.

• The ability to communicate both verbally and written is required.

• Proficient with basic math and computer skills is required.

• Ability to work safely without close supervision is required.

• Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship. 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, on call every other weekend.
