Warehouse Associate – Flooring Materials

Summary: The Warehouse Associate is responsible for specialized tasks in managing flooring materials, including carpet, tile, wood, vinyl, and laminate. This role may involve loading, unloading, order pulling, shipping, returns, forklift operation, and fabrication, or encompass a generalized function across all warehouse departments.

Essential Functions:

• Execute tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, fabrication, and transporting flooring materials.
• Safely load and unload flooring materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles.
• Stack or organize materials, including rolls of carpet, boxes of tile, pallets of laminate, and bundles of wood and vinyl planks.
• Install protective measures like bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent material damage during transport.
• Verify stock computations against physical counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace by properly storing materials and disposing of trash.
• Follow and promote company safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment.
• Process orders or assist in selling flooring supplies, materials, and products to installers and subcontractors.
• Operate machinery such as forklifts or other equipment to move or transport flooring materials safely.
• Drive trucks to pick up incoming stock or deliver materials to designated locations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with flooring materials (e.g., carpet rolls, tile pallets, wood planks) and their handling.
• Knowledge of machines and tools used in warehouse operations.
• Experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and handle materials with care to prevent damage.
