About the Role
As an Associate Clinical Director at PHM, you will serve as both the lead clinician and engagement manager for clients navigating complex cancer conditions. This role is centered on helping patients and families move beyond the standard of care to achieve the best possible health outcomes through personalized, evidence-based strategies.
Working remotely, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, PhD researchers, and care coordinators to uncover opportunities to improve care. You will apply deep clinical expertise, structured problem-solving, and intellectual curiosity to identify key issues, engage leading medical experts, and guide clients toward optimized diagnostic and treatment plans.
What You’ll Accomplish
- Serve as a trusted clinical partner to clients, guiding them through complex medical journeys and treatment decisions
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care recommendations that improve outcomes beyond standard approaches
- Build and leverage relationships with internal experts and external key opinion leaders to enhance care strategies
- Coordinate multidisciplinary efforts to ensure seamless, personalized care experiences for every client
How You’ll Spend Your Days
Client Leadership & Relationship Management
- Act as the primary clinical lead for client engagements, building trust and guiding patients and families through complex care decisions
- Manage ongoing client relationships, ensuring clarity, confidence, and continuity throughout their healthcare journey
Clinical Strategy & Problem Solving
- Analyze complex medical cases to identify gaps, opportunities, and advanced care pathways
- Explore specialized diagnostics and treatment options beyond standard protocols
- Apply critical thinking to challenge assumptions and uncover optimal solutions
Collaboration & Care Coordination
- Partner with internal clinicians, PhD researchers, and care coordinators to develop comprehensive care strategies
- Articulate collaboration needs across internal and external stakeholders, including interdisciplinary care teams
- Support coordination of care logistics to ensure execution of recommended plans
External Engagement & Thought Partnership
- Engage with leading specialists and key opinion leaders to inform care decisions
- Build relationships that expand PHM’s ability to deliver best-in-class care
- Stay current on emerging therapies, treatments, and clinical research
Team Leadership (Case-Based)
- Provide guidance and direction to other clinical team members as needed for specific cases or service lines
- Contribute to team discussions, case reviews, and knowledge sharing
What You Bring to the Table
You are a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with active licensure in your home state and at least two years of experience managing complex medical cases, ideally in oncology and/or hematology. You bring strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in high-stakes situations.
You are deeply client-oriented, with exceptional communication skills and a professional, composed presence when working with patients and families. You demonstrate high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
You operate with a “do what it takes” mindset, combining intellectual curiosity with persistence to uncover the best possible care options. You are comfortable using technology to document, communicate, and collaborate across distributed teams. Experience spanning oncology alongside another complex specialty is a plus.

Compensation
The target base salary for this position is $140,000 annually plus an 8% target bonus.
This base salary is only a part of a total compensation package that also includes: health/dental/vision benefits, annual cash incentive program, 401k with match, flexible PTO, PHM for PHM (our services for you and your dependents) and other benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target
