Raytheon is hiring a Principal Software Engineer, Operations Support to support our teams in Richardson, Texas. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. In this role, you will use your solid foundation in Java and experience working in a Linux environment to comprehend customer needs and provide real time operational support.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for assisting in the management of the system/application architecture within the client space, lead the analysis of issues that directly affect the system architecture, and serve as a direct interface to operations personnel and support staff. 
• Opportunity to use your deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in software and systems infrastructure and integration to troubleshoot problems as they arise.
• Demonstrate your critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate with teammates as well as with externals and the customer.
• Support off-hours call-ins to assist 24/7 operations. 
• Obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of Software Engineering experience.
• Experience with Java, Python, and Bash shell scripting.
• An active and transferable Top Secret security clearance that can be crossed over to a TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to decompose, document, and communicate architecture rationale, approach, design and governance.
• Satellite ground system Mission Management, signals data processing, and security infrastructure experience.
• Security+ Certification.
• Experience with Java for development and the Spring Framework.
• Experience with cloud technologies and containerized environments such as Kubernetes, Docker and Helm.
• Experience with automation, DevOps and the GitLab pipeline.
• Experience with message processing, WebSockets and the Pub/Sub model for message brokers.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in complex containerized environments.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams, collaborate with DevOps engineers, and communicate technical details clearly.
