What You’ll Do

• Lead development teams, providing direction and support in the execution of development tasks. Offer technical guidance and oversight to ensure that team members are adhering to best practices and project specifications while maintaining high-quality standards throughout development.

• Work closely with stakeholders to collect, analyze, and document business and technical requirements. Design and implement scalable, cloud-based CMS solutions, selecting the most suitable CMS modules to meet project needs, ensuring flexibility, performance, and future scalability.

• Lead the architecture of sophisticated solutions that incorporate diverse technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.

• Develop the code, system implementation, and content migration strategy and scripts.

• Design domain, technology, and data models to support multi-tiered applications

• Develop and implement integration strategies to connect with external services and third-party providers.

• Design, define, and support the path to production for all project applications

• Act as a mentor to junior and less experienced engineers, providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to help them level up their technical skills.

• Work directly with stakeholders and team members to set and manage expectations throughout the life of the project

• Contribute to an agile development process, participating in sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and reviews.

• Validate the end-to-end functionality of the system, ensuring it meets all technical, business, and user requirements.
   

Basic Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or lawful Permanent Resident Aliens (green card) with at least three (3) years of U.S. residency from the date of legal entry in the U.S.

• All work must be conducted within the U.S.  

• Must be able to capable of receiving a Public Trust level clearance 

• As a contractor to the federal government, all hires may be required to complete additional background screenings at the time of hire or any time thereafter as requested

• 10+ years of experience delivering resilient, well-tested, consumer-facing web applications

• 5+ years providing architectural leadership for a complex, public-facing web modernization effort with high visibility

• 5+ years' operating in at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)

• 4+ years shipping web solutions using at least 1 modern language like Go, Elixir, Typescript, Java, etc.

• 3+ years' operating as the technical lead on a cloud-based Drupal CMS project
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or technical related degree

• Experience integrating with external APIs

• A mastery of the fundamental technologies of the web: HTTP, SSL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON

• Docker experience and/or an understanding of containerization

• Strong oral and written communication skills and the willingness to use them

• A strong sense of ownership and engagement
