Position Summary

We are looking for a MBA candidate to join our North American Foodservice Marketing team for a 10-12 week period, starting in Spring 2024.

 

This position will be based out of our Oakbrook Terrace, IL office, less than 20 miles west of the Loop in Chicago. Note, this internship will follow flexible work hours, with approximately 2 days/week expected in the office.

The McCain MBA intern will develop the critical and strategic thinking to be a future Brand Management Marketer.  The intern will get the opportunity to get exposure to the Marketing team as well as key cross functional partners to better understand how strategies get executed in the marketplace.  One of the main duties of the MBA intern will be to evaluate data trends, competitors, and consumer insights that lead to strategies and actions that will help the business grow.

 

This is an exciting Business to Business (B2B) role within McCain, challenging you to develop Marketing materials and strategies that influence the Foodservice Operator to buy our delicious branded potato portfolio and serve it to their patrons.  You will work not only on high profile Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) opportunities but the entire Foodservice channel including Non-Commercial (College & University, Healthcare, K-12 and more!) and Convenience Stores (C-Store).

 

The Team
 

The McCain North American (NA) Foodservice Marketing MBA intern will be part of the NA Foodservice Potato Marketing team.  The team is comprised of 8 talented and highly motivated Marketers that are accelerating strategic growth for the Foodservice business.

 

What You Will Be Working On

  • Strategic projects supporting Foodservice segments critical to driving business growth.
    • Potential development of Marketing innovation launch materials.
  • Year-end business analysis and key findings to support the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Execute McCain Potato portfolio review and gap analysis to competition.
  • Analyzing competitors for an extensive competitive business study of top Foodservice potato manufacturers reporting: company strategies, segment analysis, top selling sku’s, portfolio, and key customers.  

 

What You Will Learn

  • You will get real world experience by owning specific projects that will be executed into the marketplace.
  • Full understanding marketing and brand management works within a Foodservice and Consumer Package Goods (CPG) company.
  • Develop data analytical skills that will be used to make recommendations mastering external data sources such as Circana, Mintel, Crest, and Datassentials and internal data sources (Power BI).
  • Get 1:1 and on the job training from Marketing leads as well as key cross functional partners.
  • Learn how strategies get executed throughout the organization as well as internal alignments.
