The Opportunity

The primary responsibility of the Senior Project Lead is to support product transfers from Abbott sites to Third Party Manufacturers (TPMs), monitor and escalate supplier performance, mitigate risk associated with new and existing TPMs globally and lead the execution of continuous improvement projects.  The role is responsible for acting as a liaison between suppliers and Abbott, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement to ensure the highest level of performance in all parts of the business.

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Electrophysiology Medical Device division.   In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

What You’ll Work On

  • Operates within the TPM organizational goals and objectives, measures performance, and efficiently executes projects to resolve issues and implement improvements across all focus areas (Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery).
  • Accountable for clearly defining and managing total project scope. Develop and manage project charter and project plan to meet deliverables. Identify key milestones for project status reporting, complete projects on time and within budget constraints.
  • Manage creation and updates of detailed project plans, resource and budget management, schedule management, project risk assessments, and project documentation.
  • Recognize and integrate the broader implications of actions and proposals on the final project outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute projects: identifying tasks, creating and tracking project schedule with problem solving methodology, identify problems and working with cross-functional teams to resolve them. Projects may include product transfers, productivity improvements, yield improvements, material changes, implementing new manufacturing process/equipment, etc.
  • Drive teams to meet milestones and deliverables established in project planning and agreed upon with senior leadership.
  • Using advanced excel skills and PowerBI, prepare and present data-informed written and oral reports and other presentations to sr. leadership audiences; under supervision, may create and deliver project review presentation to leadership as necessary
  • Accountable to establish and maintain effective cross-functional communication and working relationships between Abbott and Supplier’s Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, Regulatory, etc., functions. 
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Division policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other technical field of study
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of PM experience, preferably within the medical device industry
