Summary of Job Duties:

This Research Technician position provides support to the laboratory of Kirk West, a basic science laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The applicant will be responsible for performing standard molecular and cellular biology techniques. Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of cell culture techniques and/or recombinant protein purification. Candidates will need to be highly organized, flexible, and motivated. Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency are required. This research technician position will focus on the role of Tousled-like kinases within the DNA damage response. The applicant for the lab position will be responsible for general laboratory maintenance and performing experiments as requested by the supervisor. The individual will interact with the principal investigator, faculty researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students.

Qualifications:

High School diploma/GED plus two (2) years of experience working in a research laboratory required.
