Job Summary
Obsidian Solutions Group is seeking a Senior-Level Advanced Tactical Training professional to provide comprehensive training systems analysis and instructional support for Surface and Mine Warfare Development Center (SMWDC) operations. This position requires an experienced military professional with extensive combat systems expertise who will support formal schoolhouse instruction, develop tactical scenarios, and provide advanced warfare tactics training. The successful candidate will work with cutting-edge training simulators, develop multi-warfare scenarios, and provide critical feedback on training effectiveness while supporting the continuous professional development of Navy personnel across multiple warfare areas.
Requirements
Specific Responsibilities
- Support courses of instruction requiring the use of simulators in formal schoolhouse/classroom environments
- Become proficient in and provide feedback on training systems including Multi-Mission Team Trainer (MMTT), Combined IAMD/ASW Trainer (CIAT), Virtual Operator Trainers (VOTs), CV-TSC, Multi Warfare Training and Planning System (MWPTS), and other simulators and emulators
- Develop tactical multi-day, multi-warfare scenarios within MMTT and CV-TSC systems, encompassing basic to complex level knowledge checks
- Support complex multi-warfare scenario development for training executed within the CIAT training facility
- Provide training on SMWDC briefing standardization requirements (SMWDCINST 3320.1) and attend pre-boards and qualification boards for SMWDC instructors
- Deliver instruction in formal schoolhouse/classroom environments for Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) and other SMWDC courses covering advanced surface warfare tactics (ASW, SUW, MIW, AMW, IAMD)
- Provide instruction on trainers and simulators including setup, operations, and troubleshooting of training systems
- Conduct advanced warfare tactics training in shipboard or ashore environments, including Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT)
- Assess Fleet Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) and evaluate unit-level mission area readiness through direct observation and performance metrics analysis
- Evaluate Carrier Strike Group (CSG), Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), Surface Action Group (SAG), and Surface Action Unit (SAU) readiness
- Assess Navy Component Commander (NCC), Numbered Fleet Commander (NFC), Joint Maritime Component Commander (JFMCC), and Commander Task Force (CTF) staff readiness
- Provide feedback on database management systems, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming, and Microsoft Excel for lethality training tools
- Manage and maintain the Warfare Training Instructor (WTI) database system including application parameters and individual records
- Develop, process, and maintain databases supporting Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) programs
- Provide feedback on maintenance and development of lethality training tools including Target Motion Analysis (TMA) computer programs
- Participate in course curriculum review processes and provide recommendations for improvement
- Support learning objectives development and training standards establishment
Required Qualifications
- Current Security Clearance of SECRET and TS/SCI eligible
- Minimum of 12 years of military experience and/or relevant industry/government experience with surface navy's combat systems, C5I, networks, and weapons systems
- Minimum of 5 years military Strike Group, Fleet, Major Training Command, Systems Testing Command, or similar military organization planning experience
- Five (5) years of experience aboard Navy cruisers, destroyers, or within qualified Department of Defense warfare areas
- Qualified and experienced in watch stations with authority to employ Aegis Weapon System (Tactical Action Officer (TAO), Air Warfare Coordinator (AAWC), or Battle Watch Captain)
- Possess Tactical Action Officer Qualification letter or BMD Watch Officer qualification letter
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative assessment methods to support war-fighting readiness, capabilities, and capacity evaluations
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite programs (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word)
- Strong understanding of advanced surface warfare tactics across multiple warfare areas
- Experience with training simulator systems and educational
