Arabic-speaking Jerusalem Correspondent (f/m/d)

DW is seeking an Arabic-speaking Correspondent (f/m/d) for Programming in Jerusalem as of 1 September 2025 or as soon as possible on the basis of a freelance contract limited for one year.

Your challenges

• production of video and written reports from start to finish including pitching ideas, writing scripts, filming and editing with a main focus on digital production for social media platforms
• live coverage for DW Arabic’s news shows on current events in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories
• deep understanding of politics and society of Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories
• collaboration with DW’s team in Jerusalem, the region and DW Arabic’s editorial teams in Bonn and Berlin

Your qualifications

• university degree, preferably in journalism, communications, politics or a similar field
• deep knowledge and proven experience of creating editorial content for digital platforms
• ability to film pieces using mobile equipment and camera equipment
• proficiency in Adobe premiere and Adobe photoshop
• experience with on-camera reporting an advantage
• ability to analyze political and geostrategic contexts and very good knowledge of the political systems and social and cultural context in the region
• native-level proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic (reading, writing and speaking) desirable; working proficiency in both English and Hebrew to be able to look at sources in the language required; knowledge of German an asset
• flexibility, creativity and strong collaboration skills; ability to work in interdisciplinary and diverse teams, high level of intercultural sensitivity and respect for diversity
