The Corporate Vice President, Strategy will partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to proactively shape and execute the company’s long-term vision.
The CVP will be responsible for:
Drive and expand the “MPM channel” to ensure CC products/technologies (e.g., TruWave, Swan-Ganz, ForeSight, FloTrac, etc.) are available and well positioned across partner platforms and installed base.
Lead the identification and development of strategic partnerships with EMR & digital health companies in areas including technology enablement, data sharing/usage and analytics.
Leading strategic planning, including setting corporate goals, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), and establishing metrics to track progress
Overseeing the execution of strategic initiatives that drive organic growth and value creation
Identifying, analyzing, cultivating, structuring, and executing on business development / M&A transactions aligned with the company’s strategic plans
Managing ongoing relationships with external business partners and integration of acquired businesses to ensure achievement of business objectives
Key Objectives:
Serve as strategic partner to the CEO and leaders across Critical Care
Drive thorough analysis of the market landscape, strategic opportunities and new market expansion
Identify and build-out the business development and M&A funnel
Improve the financial profile of Critical Care through a combination of internal initiatives and attractive external transactions that can deliver strong returns on invested capital
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the formulation of Critical Care’s strategic business plans and initiatives
Oversee execution of strategic initiatives by the strategy and business functions teams
Establish and lead a robust effort – which will include a rigorous idea generation and screening process – to generate potential inorganic growth opportunities
Lead the evaluation and execution of strategic partnerships, and opportunities in emerging technologies and intellectual property licensing
Analyze the universe of prospective market segments to identify potential acquisition targets that are aligned to the company’s strategic plan and innovation agenda
Own and continuously improve the playbook for evaluating potential deal opportunities; rapidly identify and communicate business levers that define winning and losing
Partner with cross-functional teams to move deals through evaluation, due diligence and closing
Negotiate and structure deals that maximize value and mitigate risk
Oversee project management for integration of completed transactions
Experience Required:
15+ years of experience in a diverse set of roles in healthcare strategy, M&A, management consulting, private equity/venture capital, or investment banking
Deep knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem with a strong network of medical technology executives, investment banks and industry consultants to help identify and analyze target companies
Extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions including market assessment, financial evaluation, due diligence, negotiation and closings
Strategic thinker able to provide thought leadership; thrives on data-driven analysis and constant learning
Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to perform in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis
Ability to structure and manage complex projects with multiple workstreams over a wide variety of functional business problems
Highly collaborative leader and motivator, teamwork oriented, low ego working style, with the ability to inspire teams towards Critical Care’s mission and purpose
Ability to quickly gain trust and encourage collaboration with business leaders; can be candid and effectively influence others
