Job Summary:
As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization's computer systems and network infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and security, to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our systems. Your expertise in systems administration and infrastructure management will be crucial in supporting the organization's technology needs and optimizing system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, software, and operating systems. Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and security settings. Ensure proper system configurations and adherence to security best practices.
2. System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance, availability, and security. Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and firmware upgrades. Identify and resolve system issues, bottlenecks, and vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
3. User Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to end-users on hardware, software, and system-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve problems reported by users and escalate as necessary. Maintain a high level of customer service and responsiveness.
4. System Security and Access Control: Implement and enforce security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access, threats, and vulnerabilities. Monitor system logs, perform security audits, and manage user access controls. Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
5. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain system documentation, including configuration guides, procedures, and troubleshooting resources. Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations and changes. Share knowledge and best practices with the IT team and end-users.
6. System Upgrades and Migrations: Plan and execute system upgrades and migrations. Coordinate with stakeholders to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth transition. Conduct testing and validation of upgraded systems to ensure compatibility and functionality.
7. Collaboration and Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to procure necessary hardware, software licenses, and technical support. Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements. Stay updated on emerging technologies and evaluate their potential benefits to the organization.
8. System Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance metrics and identify areas for optimization. Implement performance tuning measures to improve system efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Conduct capacity planning to ensure system resources meet current and future needs.
9. Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure systems adhere to relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance. Collaborate with the security and compliance teams to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
10. System Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with IT leadership to define system goals, roadmap, and strategies. Participate in the planning and implementation of new systems, technologies, and infrastructure upgrades. Contribute to IT projects and initiatives as needed.
