What impact you'll make?
The Senior Commercial Controller for Middle East & Africa (MEA) will work closely with regional services CFOs, commercial and operating teams to manage complex technical accounting matters through early engagement. The role will report to the Gas Power Commercial & Services Controller and primarily support the Gas Power businesses.
Job Description
What you’ll do
Provide ongoing US GAAP technical and operational accounting guidance to commercial and finance teams
Perform technical accounting assessments of various project accounting matters such as contract commercial terms, revenue recognition, bad debt reviews, customer concessions and other complex accounting matters
Research authoritative guidance and lead technical accounting memo documentation and related consultations
Own the review and documentation for the commercial deal reviews and appropriate order recognition
Drive consistent, documented accounting policies and procedures for revenue recognition through proactive contract / deal reviews
Assist Gas Power Commercial & Services Controller and Global Technical Controllership team with various other related activities such as process improvement initiatives, policy harmonization, and financial reporting deep dive analysis
Serve as focal point contact for internal / external auditors and drive closure of open audit issues, specially for technical accounting related matters
Other ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as required by GEV Power Controllership
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor's Degree in accounting from an accredited university or college
Knowledge of US GAAP, domain focus on revenue recognition policies
Major years GEV (or equivalent) Finance / Controllership experience
Strong knowledge of GEV systems, closing and reporting processes
Fluent English knowledge is essential
