Maintenance - Technician

Role Summary

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, this position for a maintenance technician is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and modification of building and production equipment, and facility / plant upgrades. This role will also handle purchasing tasks and maintaining inventory of spare and replacement parts.

Main Tasks

Machine installations and upgrades
Provide support for equipment relocations, new equipment installations and plant upgrades
Support facility and equipment expansion efforts
Inspect, service repair / replace (as required), RO / DI systems, compressed air systems, inert gas systems, mechanical systems, building and production equipment
Understand diagrams and schematics involving the use of standard architectural / mechanical / equipment symbols
Work from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions as required
Install and / or maintain motors, pumps, HVAC systems, RO / DI systems, boilers, chillers, and building and production equipment
Perform general contractors’ tasks for construction activities

Your Profile

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years working in a general facility / maintenance environment
• Familiar with general shop equipment and hand tools
• Familiar with RO / Di Systems and chillers / boilers
• Handling of hazardous materials / waste

 

Knowledge of:

• Electrical controls
• Plumbing and pumps
• Microsoft computer programs (Word and Excel) and SAP applications is a plus!

 

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred

 

Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrate teamwork and effective communication skills
• Basic welding skills preferred.
