South Pointe Hospital’s Emergency Department has 22 beds and provides 24/7 emergency services to more than 35,000 patients of all ages each year. Known for their collaborative and team-based approach, this department is focused on providing an environment for caregivers to learn and become experts in their field. As an RN in this department, you will continue Cleveland Clinic’s mission of being the best place to receive care.
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Two years recent related nursing experience for external applicants
Review required by the Chief Nursing Officer for internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period
Military RN experience considered
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of employment
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
