Job Summary:
The FP&A Analyst will support Transaction Loss FP&A activities such as building budgets and forecasts, maintaining reserve adequacy models and providing transparency on transaction losses trends at product/segment/region level. The role will also require close collaboration with the Risk organization and Business units to gather inputs, summarize insights and produce executive level presentations. Key focus will be to drive optimal decision-making through financial modelling and quantitative analysis. Innovation and automation of existing models will be also a critical focus area for the candidate.A successful candidate will be highly analytical and capable of interpreting trends. You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to present and work with the wider FP&A team and business owners.
The FP&A Analyst will report into the Transaction Loss FP&A Lead and will be based in San Jose but with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple time zones.
Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support planning and forecasting processes
- Review business performance on regular cadences (weekly, monthly, quarterly)Collaborate with stakeholders to gather inputs and summarize insights
- Produce executive-level presentations
- Work closely with the finance and technical teams to drive process and system improvements
- Facilitate discussions with various stakeholders, manage expectations, and collaborate cross-functionally
- Consult with finance leads to review and discuss key issues, risks, and dependencies for assigned initiatives
- Document and escalate potential risks/issues, assist in developing mitigation strategies, and support their implementation
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Support planning and forecasting for PayPal Transaction Loss and work with Risk & BI teams to produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, review quarterly forecasts and annual budgets across products/segments/regions.
- Play a key role during the month-end and quarter-end close cycles.
- Help maintain the Forecast Reserve Adequacy Model (FRAMe) for PayPal and its main cross-properties, ensuring appropriate reserve levels and adherence to audit/contr
