Summary

Provides Conditional Payment Claim investigation services to assist customers in addressing this important MSP compliance obligation.  Interacts with attorneys and insurance carriers to provide education and status updates on open files. Interacts regularly with The Benefits Coordination & Recover Center, a government contractor working on behalf of the Center for Medicare Services.

Essential Duties and Functions

• Reviews initial file handling instructions from Referral Coordinator and assists with management of open files through the Medicare set-aside process.
• Pursues requested medical records and releases.
• Communicates with Medicare to obtain conditional payment estimates, demands and results of negotiation, and provides Referral Source with updates.
• Receives, screens, and routes incoming telephone calls; resolves routine problems requiring knowledge of department policies and procedures; provides information.
• Documents pertinent data in computer application.
• Supports team cohesiveness through on-going diplomatic effective written and verbal communication.
• Any other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Exceptional telephone demeanor

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
• 1 – 3 years workers compensation experience
• Experience in managing a case load
