Senior Logistics Manager (Ocean Partners)
BarkAbout the role
Hello!
Sr. Manager, Logistics
ABOUT BARK
Here at BARK, we love dogs and their people. We’re looking to make all dogs happy throughout
the entire world (we’re not kidding). Think Disney for dogs -- we make magic for dogs and
their people through our products, events, and experiences.
Our ambition level is high, the opportunity is huge, and our love for dogs is through the roof!
We launched in 2011 with BarkBox, a monthly-themed subscription of all-natural treats and
clever toys. Since then, we've shipped more than 70 million toys and treats to the dogs across
the world and use all of that direct customer feedback to inform new initiatives and ways to
make magic between dogs and their people. We’ve since expanded into other offerings as
well, as we aim to become THE Dog Company for every family with a four-legged, belly-
scratch-loving, interspecies family member.
THE TEAM
Our Pup's “first hand” experience depends on us! Our goal…to tirelessly work towards best in class
service fulfillment of every dog's order. Our team’s focus and commitment is dedicated to fulfilling as
efficiently, reliably, and inexpensively as possible. Internally, our Planning, Product, and Growth teams
are our best friends. Together, we make the engine run to ensure EVERY dog parent get's what they paid
for!
WHO WE’RE SNIFFING FOR
We’re seeking an experienced supply chain and Logistics expert who has a high bar knowing
we must hit 100% of our targets, for BARK to serve all of our pups 100% on time. This
individual would be responsible for managing the booking process between our
manufactures and steam ship line partners. Ensuring proper allocation is available in the
contract to support our forecast, ensure the bookings are executed to meet our contractual
minimum quantity commitment (MQC) across multiple partners and that the shipment sails
in a timely manner so that the PO is on track to beat its expected date. As the shipments is
on the water this individual will work with all our ocean partners to ensure all proper arrival
notices are provided to our drayage partners. After the vessel arrives this individual will
ensure that all containers are picked up off dock prior to their last free day. And execute
delivery with a 100% on time performance into our warehouse, managing appointments
based on feedback from our planning group. Beyond the execution we will have weekly
internal business reviews where you must speak to any gaps in performance or cost.
Externally this individual will drive monthly and quarterly business reviews with each partner
to ensure that our partners are meeting contractual obligations and build a strategic working relationship.
This is a truly global role with destinations in 4 countries across 3 continents.
We are obsessed with logistics and relentless on performance, but we're not afraid to have
fun! We like to think we're superheroes your dog doesn't even know about. No capes, but we
type faster than you can fly and don't rest until pups are barking at the door in anticipation of
BARK products landing on their doorstep.
