Accounting Clerk - Cost Accounting

Description

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk - Cost Accounting position.

Location: Layton, UT

Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday

Essential Job Responsibilities:

•   Prepare and analyze monthly cost allocations for products utilized by providers.
•   Evaluate reimbursement rates and associated costs to ensure profitability.
•   Perform pooling calculations while adhering to Stark Law compliance requirements.
•   Review invoices and collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure cost lists are accurate and up-to-date.
•   Monitor and track rebate eligibility for specialty pharmaceuticals.
•   Conduct detailed cost analyses on medical procedures to properly cost account expenses.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Associate's degree in accounting or 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

• Strong Excel spreadsheet software skills
• Strong Analytical Skills
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Excellent communication skills
• Organized, detail oriented and professional
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of accounting systems and the generally accepted accounting principles
• Knowledge of basic mathematics
• Competency with EMR practice management systems

Skills:

• Excellent Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills with both internal and external customers
• Good organization skills and keen attention to detail

Equipment Operated:

• Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment:

• Position is in a well-lighted office environment

• Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder
