Reporting Relationships: Clinical Supervisor (Licensed) report to and supervised by the Program Director.
Position Summary: A Clinical Supervisor (Licensed) professionally applies social work methodology and theory to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of psychosocial dysfunction, impairment, or disability, including mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders for individuals and families. The Clinical Supervisor (Licensed) is responsible for ensuring that their supervisees help their clients live fuller, more satisfying lives in the community; helping their team to function well and meet their contractual obligations; and striving, as appropriate to their role, to fulfill the AAPCI programs' core purpose, core values and vision statements. The Clinical Supervisor (Licensed) is a part of their program's management team and is therefore also responsible for helping to ensure that their program provides the best services possible for its tenants, is an engaging and rewarding place for staff to work and has a culture which promotes continuous learning and improvement.
The main responsibility of the Clinical Supervisor (Licensed) is to screen applicants for residency, conduct interviews and assessments, set treatment goals, and arrange for expediting and coordinating services.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Program Director, Clinical Supervisors (Licensed) are expected to perform the following principal duties and responsibilities.
- Under the supervision of the Program Director, implements the on-going operation of a supportive housing residence for formerly homeless persons living with severe mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders.
- Provides administrative and clinical supervision to all direct care and specialty service staff.
- Directs skills-development seminars and creates individual training plans for each staff member.
- Monitors physical, emotional, and practical needs of tenants.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly reports on delivery of services and expenditures.
- Under the supervision of the Program Director, develops and maintains a complete social service staffing schedule and protocol that applies to applicable contractual agreements.
- Establishes and maintains liaison with the Property Management Agent.
- Provides staff with opportunities to develop a staff support group and to participate in outside training and skill building seminars.
- Along with the Program Director, recruits, hires and evaluates staff.
- Ensures standards of confidentiality in handling of records.
- Attends all trainings that may be scheduled by funding agency.
- Attends relevant professional development conferences and makes presentations to staff at regularly scheduled intervals.
- Provides ongoing unscheduled consultation to all social service staff members and crisis intervention to residents.
- Ensure that the supportive housing program's operations conform to and are operated within the guidelines, rules and regulations set forth by the funding agency.
