Senior Machine Learning Engineer

ISS STOXX is hiring! Our Market Intelligence (MI) business is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our product management team as we connect our many data sets across financial sectors (asset management, insurance, retirement). This individual will leverage the wealth of MI’s data to identify customer challenges and solve them with new analytical models while partnering with the product, research, and business development teams.

The outputs of these models will be used by the largest asset managers, wealth managers, retirement providers and insurers in the world to inform the critical product, marketing, and distribution decisions – leaving a lasting impact on the industry and the menu of investment options for investors. 

What You’ll Do:

• Identify opportunities to drive value for clients using data science and other quantitative techniques.
• Collaborate with product, development and data operations teams to understand opportunities where Machine Learning and Data Science analysis can be applied.
• Develop, refine and implement models and enhance existing models while incorporating business feedback throughout the process.
• Ability to explain the model, model results and analytical findings in concise and clear manner to audiences with a range of technical knowledge using presentations and visualizations
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with developers to enable them to bring prototypes to production.
• Provide go-to market support for our business development and marketing teams.

What You’ll Bring:

• 5-10 Years of experience building quantitative and machine learning models of data within the financial services industry. 
• Expertise in machine learning and statistical modeling, particularly regression and classification techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, computer science, data science or related analytical field is required. Advanced degrees are a plus, as are any financial industry credentials (CFA).
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL is required.
• Previous experience working specifically with mutual fund or ETF data is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• A creative and curious mindset with a passion for uncovering insights from complex data sets.

Base salary: The New York City expected base pay range is $125,000 - $180,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and level of education.

The role is bonus or sales incentive eligible.
