Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Room Service Cook - to join our Nutrition Services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe preparation and delivery of high-quality meals in accordance with standard recipes, dietary requirements, and health regulations. This role plays a critical part in supporting the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals following standard recipes and department guidelines.

  • Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned, maintained, and used according to safety standards.

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to state and hospital sanitation regulations.

  • Accurately record and monitor food and equipment temperatures in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Prepare meals for patients, staff, catered events, and special dietary needs in accordance with prescribed schedules.

  • Properly store leftovers and food items in compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.

  • Ensure all food served is palatable, properly seasoned, and meets regional, cultural, and dietary expectations.

  • Keep food lines and cafeteria areas adequately stocked during service hours.

  • Safely operate and clean kitchen equipment, following manufacturer instructions and required dwell times.

  • Assist in additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the hospital’s mission and vision

Qualifications

  • Required: Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Preferred: 1 to 2 years previous cook experience.
  • Preferred: Serv-Safe certification.
  • Required: Food Handler Certification.
