About the role
Primary Responsibilities:
- Works with the staff to identify, define and document the need for development, conversion or modification of limited scope application system software. Develops and proposes innovative and effective solutions to research problems. Uses tools, such as prototyping to define and interpret requirements and to document results.
- Serves as project leader for development and maintenance of moderately complex software systems, while adhering to current system configuration management procedures. Prepares and gathers requirements and design specifications; participates in design reviews; develops software; troubleshoots and corrects software problems; performs comprehensive unit and limited system testing and prepares and maintains technical and user documentations per modern software engineering standards.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines that comply with current configuration management procedures.
- Assist and advise staff in the use of Database technologies. Document existing research databases and develop software systems around them.
- Provides support for relatively simple, limited scope acquired software systems. Acts as liaison between users and vendors for the installation and maintenance of new software releases.
- Assists vendors in identifying and isolating problems with software, and test updates and fixes. Participates in building custom interfaces to provide connectivity with other IDA systems. Ensure that all installed software complies with current configuration management procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field coupled with three years minimum experience in Information Technology, which includes at least two years in programming OR high school diploma with five years minimum experience in Information Technology, which includes at least two years in programming.
- Experience in analysis, design, development and implementation of computer software.
- Experience in developing N-Tier applications using tools such as Microsoft’s VS Code and one or more SQL based relational database management systems like Microsoft’s SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
- Must be organized, self-motivated and able to work with moderate supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form and with all levels of employees; possess good interpersonal skills.
Must be willing to occasionally work hours outside of a regular schedule. - US citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances.
- This position requires that you have the ability to obtain and maintain the current DOD 8140 and/or 8570 certification or obtain relevant education substitution within 6 months of employment.

While it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $89,000-$143,000. Individual salary within this range will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, unique skills and qualifications, and other relevant factors.
