Lead Orthodontic Dental Assistant

💰 Competitive Pay: Hourly rates start at $25 per hour, with higher compensation available for experienced candidates!

Responsibilities:

✔ Provide advanced chairside support for a variety of orthodontic procedures, including banding, bonding, wire changes, and debonding, ensuring efficiency and patient comfort.
✔ Take the lead in preparing treatment rooms, ensuring instruments are sterilized, materials are ready, and the environment is set up for seamless care.
✔ Mentor and guide junior assistants and externs, sharing best practices in orthodontic workflows, infection control, and patient communication.
✔ Capture and process precise digital radiographs and orthodontic records, including intraoral photos, panoramic and cephalometric X-rays.
✔ Assist with taking impressions or digital scans for appliances, retainers, and aligners.
✔ Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including treatment notes and orthodontic charting.
✔ Monitor and manage sterilization protocols and equipment maintenance to meet safety and compliance standards.
✔ Coordinate with the orthodontist and front office to support efficient patient flow and ensure timely care.

Qualifications:

✔ 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Chairside Dental Assistant, preferably in an orthodontic setting.
✔ Strong knowledge of orthodontic appliances, procedures, and terminology.
✔ Skilled in taking orthodontic X-rays and impressions/scans.
✔ Proficiency with orthodontic software and digital record systems (Dentrix Ascend experience is a plus!).
✔ Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
✔ Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality patient care.
