Senior Electrical & Instrument Engineer

As a Senior E&I Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within the NOV Process Systems' E&I Department, based in Fornebu, Oslo. This position is key for leading electrical and instrumentation engineering activities in offshore Oil & Gas EPC projects. You will be responsible for ensuring project completion within budget and time constraints while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Professional Development: Pursue continuous professional development within the discipline/area.
- Operational Improvement: Engage in Lessons Learned initiatives to enhance company operations.
- Project Execution: Execute projects in accordance with the Project Execution Model.
- Technical Assignments: Handle general technical assignments as requested by project management.
- Contract Understanding: Comprehend both technical and commercial aspects of project contracts. Share major requirements with the E&I Project Team.
- Document Management: Prepare and maintain the Engineering & Vendor Master document list of E&I.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the production of high-quality analysis, technology selection, calculations, design, and engineering documents/drawings per project contracts and NOV QM system.
- Technology Development: Develop technology specifications and other required engineering documentation.
- Project Monitoring: Monitor and control project schedules, ensuring timely issuance of deliverables and Vendor POs after proper technical checks and evaluations.
- Vendor Interface: Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and clients.
- Deviation Management: Report deviations and suggest improvements to the QM system.
- Team Performance: Monitor team performance through weekly review meetings.
- Change Control: Manage and close out change control items.
- Risk and Opportunity Management: Highlight changes, risks, and opportunities to the project management team, documenting and following up as necessary.
- EPC Progress Monitoring: Monitor EPC progress against project schedules and prepare progress reports.
- Audit and Review: Attend gate reviews and audits, conduct internal surveillance checks for the E&I team.
- Training: Train and transfer experience to less experienced engineering personnel.
- FATs Management: Ensure FATs are conducted as per contract, and punch lists are completed before delivery.
- 3D Model Reviews: Coordinate and attend reviews of the 3D model to ensure technical soundness.
- Control Philosophy Development: Develop control philosophy and ensure its interface with the client.
- Miscellaneous Tasks: Handle tasks related to procurement, documentation, reporting, and compliance with EEHA/IECEx.
- Team Management: Manage the team and highlight additional manpower requirements to the Department Manager.
Who are you?
- Experience: 10 years of experience in the field.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Skills: Demonstrated experience as Lead Engineer for Offshore Oil & Gas EPC projects.
