Job Description
NOTICE OF FILING UNDER THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR’S PERMANENT LABOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Qantas Airways Limited, Los Angeles, CA. Perform aircraft maintenance, certification, and related tasks to ensure high level of safety, reliability and presentation required by Australian and American regulatory authorities, customers, and management. Supervise and manage aircraft maintenance staff. Document and report requirements for Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) airworthiness and company standards. Ensure safe and prompt dispatch of Qantas and client aircraft in accordance with established company, customer, and regulatory authority standards in Australia and America. Support technical issue resolution. Manage third party contractors. Review existing work plans to ensure production targets are achieved.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. $133,494/yr.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have five (5) years of work experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or related. Must have five (5) years of experience in/with the following:
- Assessing performance of aircraft maintenance based on known defects and presenting possible resolution of available spares, manpower, ground-time, and dispatchability criteria;
- Troubleshooting and carrying out defect rectifications on airplanes/airliners involving engine change, hydraulic, pneumatic, and various aircraft systems;
- Conducting functional checks, engine test runs, instrument tests and alignment, and preventive maintenance;
- Practical and analytical aircraft maintenance managerial and engineering skills and line maintenance experience;
- Supervising and administering maintenance and certification of aircraft to the required airworthiness authority requirements; and
- Complying with safe working practices and procedures in accordance with S.A.F.E. Must possess a mechanic certificate issued by an aviation authority covering airframes.
Up to 20% of international travel is required.
