Position Summary
Under direction, provides research, data analysis and operational support to principal investigators and research coordinators for health services research studies. Provides leadership on the team, and directly supports the Senior Research Manager with operational and reporting activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads weekly project operations meetings, tracking and enforcing accountability for projects and deadlines.
- Leads calls with current and prospective researchers regarding collaboration efforts. Takes ownership of relationships with prospective researchers and oversees the project pipeline for research studies.
- Develops research meeting materials, newsletters (in paper and electronic formats), and research-related promotional materials.
- Trains new and current staff on research project(s) background, intake processes, standards for quality of work, and general onboarding.
- Scales tasks and assignments to gauge competency of new staff and provides continuous feedback. Delegates workload as needed.
- Conducts literature reviews and gains expert familiarity with protocols that will be used as templates.
- Assists in creation of study database. Manages and enters collected data into study database.
- Owns quarterly report authoring to funder, development and maintenance of tracking documents, collaboration with funder, planning and structure of reports, assigning ownership and reviewing all content of team members and leading review sessions.
- Strategically facilitates directives, ensuring funder deadlines and priorities are met. Responsible for outreach, collaboration and prioritization of projects that meet overall goals.
- Oversees Institutional Review Board (IRB) portfolio, manages IRB deadlines, and submits all governance requests for projects, preventing lapse of approval for all studies. Assists in preparation of materials, submissions and renewals to the IRB or IACUC.
- Assists faculty in the preparation of grant submissions and associated documentation, which may include just-in-time documents, progress reports, routing forms, abstracts and manuscripts.
- Develops solutions to structural issues, creates presentations and formal requests to senior leadership for implementation of fixes.
- Designs, creates, and maintains website(s), leads weekly communications meetings with communications department. Sets communication directives, designs timelines and milestones, and executes on communications strategy.
- May conduct qualitative coding and thematic analysis of study data.
- May perform statistical analysis of research data.
- Assists with special projects and performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree
Experience
Master's degree is preferred.
Approximately two years of related experience.
Statistical and database management experience, including proficiency in SPSS and/or RedCap.
Previous clinical research experience is helpful.
Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful.
