Undergraduate Intern for Department of Psychology Outreach Program (POP) (Student Wage)

The Department of Psychology has an open internship position for a UVA undergraduate who will serve to support the initiatives of department’s Outreach Committee. The intern will be expected to work closely with the members of the Psychology Outreach Program (POP) to assist in planning and coordinating internal and external psychology outreach opportunities. These initiatives include Brain Awareness Week for Spring 2026. The intern will be expected to commit a total of 2-3 hours a week, with increased workload during Brain Awareness Week. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about outreach and can take the initiative to create programming and communicate well.

This position is expected to start in August 2025.

Duties will include:

·         Joining committee meetings and keeping the POP website up to date

·         Creating and organizing a database of potential community partners

·         Helping arrange presentations and matching outside outreach opportunities with UVa presenters

·         Discovering new outreach partners and opportunities in local schools and organizations

• Qualifications -- Undergraduate student at UVA.
• Location – Gilmer Hall

Education: Current undergrad UVA student; preference to psychology, cognitive science, or neuroscience students
Experience: None
Licensure: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
