This position will lead a team of administrative assistants within Mission Systems Administrative Support Department.  This leader will be responsible for fostering an environment of working together, balancing workloads, increasing the team’s knowledge, expanding communication, collaboration and career development. 

 

What You Will Do

  • Manages the day-to-day implementation of administrative support to assigned business and shared units

  • Contributes to the preparation and coordination of plans and schedules for new or existing administrative support needs

  • Provides administrative resources and ensures the right skills are in place to meet specific needs

  • Rectifies any delinquencies or mismatches in support

  • Interacts and builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders at varying levels

  • Improves effectiveness of organizational units by making appropriate resources available as able

  • Responsible for workforce planning to ensure the efficient operation of the function

  • Oversees staffing including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, development, performance management/evaluation, diversity, health/safety and employee relations

  • Develops and administers individual schedules and performance requirements

  • Supports and assists staff with complex and difficult projects to ensure quality work completion and resolves issues as needed

  • Ensures assignment of staff is appropriate to meet the needs of the organization. Provides training and coaching to staff; focuses on the effectiveness of the overall team in meeting diverse support needs; adapts and reallocates assignments to enhance performance of the group and provide career development guidance for the administrative team

  • Contributes to continuous improvement of department processes and oversees documentation of processes, procedures while complying with Collins policies

  • Collaborates and maintains a strong working relationship with the other administrative leaders on the team

  • Handles additional responsibilities and projects as assigned

 

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
