Sr. Director, National Sales- Remote

The E.W. Scripps Company, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, is currently seeking a Senior Director, National Sales to become part of their sales leadership team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing revenue generation from national accounts and nurturing essential client relationships. In this role, the Senior Director will work collaboratively with advertising agencies, national brand advertisers, and local station management. Their responsibilities include managing and forecasting Scripps products across individual markets or on national platforms.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Grow national revenue by developing relationships with national agencies, their clients, and national brand advertisers.
- Ensure Scripps local media national sales managers respond to client’s availability rate requests keeping them informed of new products and market trends.
- Track sales activity Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to achieve goals.
- Proactively communicate with product and content teams to keep them informed of advertiser and industry ad requirements.
- Work alongside corporate sales leadership to roll out revenue-generating products and services through national sales channels.
- Travel to meet with agencies, clients and advertisers as well as attend industry events and conferences.
- Consistently examine new technologies and vendors to remain innovative in the national market arena.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
- Generally, 10+ years of experience in related field preferred.
- Prior managerial experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Expert knowledge of all facets of broadcast and digital media platform sales and marketing.
- Strong business acumen especially with regard to advertising businesses and trends.
- Ability to forecast sales pipeline.
- Financial acumen to produce annual budgets and manage expenses as they relate to National Sales.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to promote and sell concepts to representatives, agencies and customers.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficient in face-to-face sales, calling on national accounts and agencies.
- Must have existing relationships with national advertisers and their agencies.
