Job Description Summary
As a Steam Power Field Services & Technical Advising Specialist, you will travel to customers sites and support them with installation, maintenance, and warranty work with industrial power generation equipment. This position will require you to be trained and qualified as a Generator Specialist. As such, you will be authorized to perform both generator repair work and test and inspection assignments. The Generator Specialist will develop, though training and experience, a high level of expertise in the performance of generator inspection procedures, extensive knowledge of generator design and construction, and be capable of translating test results into terms of generator condition and recommended repairs.Job Description

Generator Specialist execute work under GE and customer safety and environmental policies, serving as an example for others and providing full commitment in the deployment of the EHS Policies and any additional project-specific written statement or procedure.
Your role:
- Manage, perform, coordinate, and/or monitor Steam Power site activities
- Perform on-site system and equipment installation, testing, preventive maintenance, repair and calibration, including both low voltage and high voltage (>600 volts) tasks.
- Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipment
- Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites
- Perform administrative functions such as: writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis
- Knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintage
- Ensure all parts needed for the job are shipped to the site
- Supervise critical tasks when these activities are performed by third parties
