Raytheon is seeking an experienced Material Program Manager (MPM) with a strong background in Supply Chain and Program Management to fill a critical MPM role within the AFS suite of programs. The MPM must be able to succeed in fast paced development environment and possess excellent time management/prioritization skills. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), leadership abilities, and the ability to work well in a matrixed IPT environment are also very important. Must be a self-starter, capable of achieving organizational and program objectives, and able to interface with all levels of internal and supplier management.
The Material Program Manager will report directly to the AFS Supply Chain Management Lead. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of supply chain strategies, material program and supplier management plans, capture/proposal and design-to-cost initiatives throughout all phases of the portfolio’s product life cycle. The MPM will be accountable to ensure suppliers are supporting program needs, risks are mitigated, and efficiencies identified.
What You Will Do
- Communicate and provide recommendations to Supply Chain Management Lead and Program Management Office of material strategies, plans and supplier risk mitigation activities.
- Support the development, coordination and execution of all program material strategies, supply chain objectives, and enterprise objectives.
- Support Supply Chain proposal activities including task descriptions and basis of estimates that support price to win (PTW) targets.
- Develop and execute material program plans (MPP).
- Establish Material Sales Forecasts for assigned programs.
- Support the development and execution of risk/opportunity plans to meet program objectives.
- Balance strategic thinking with tactical application of strategies to programs.
- Partner cross functionally with Engineering, Quality and Operations to create common schedule based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
- Monitor performance metrics and proactively address program and functional issues.
- Exert influence in the overall objectives and long-range goals of the program and the program IPT team.
- Domestic travel is required to support program objectives.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience.
- Experience with SAP and/or related material planning tools.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a program/project manager role, and/or supply chain job function.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with government regulations (i.e., FAR/DFAR, ITAR/EAR, TINA, etc.)
- Experience with Design to Cost and/or Cost Reduction Initiative activities.
- Experience developing and analyzing performance metrics.
- Experience with Proposal and New Business Capture.
