Summary

This position is for the SRP Municipal Services Department in direct support of DGS - Distribution Design and Construction.
Assist Engineers by performing technical work consisting of compiling, computing, evaluating, and reporting engineering information. Performs office and/or field technical work, recommends action on plans and procedures, and develops equipment and material specification. Work involves the application of mathematical and technical knowledge gained through training and experience and requires judgment in the execution of assignments. Specific tasks will vary by department and division.

What You'll Do

Distribution Permit job functions:

• Skills in WAM navigation and functions is key 
• Applying for construction permits across various Municipalities 
• Resubmitting permit applications as corrections are needed. 
• Traffic Control requests for Permit requirements  
• Blanket permits (annually/semi-annually)
• Fielding questions that arise either with the municipality or designer
• Pulling and working reports for various permit statuses  
• Direct communication with Design personnel through phone and email 
• Communicating with Municipalities on Construction permits

Experience

Minimum 6 years of related experience required. Promotions are determined by demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by management.

Education

College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. We are taking steps to protect the health and well-being of all team members, and by following a number of health and safety protocols, to reduce the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
