Senior Sourcing Specialist
Position Overview
JLL is seeking a highly experienced Senior Sourcing Specialist to join our procurement team. This role will drive strategic vendor management, develop sophisticated sourcing strategies, lead high-stakes negotiations, and oversee complex RFP processes across multiple categories. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, mentor junior team members, and deliver transformational value through innovative procurement solutions for Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) across a global Life Sciences/Biopharma/Manufacturing client.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Sourcing Specialist develops and implements category-specific sourcing strategies aligned with business needs and budget objectives. Conduct comprehensive spend analysis and market research to identify consolidation opportunities, cost savings, and process improvements. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive supplier business reviews and competitive bid processes, including RFx (RFP, RFQ, RFI) development and management. The role involves negotiating terms, pricing, and service level agreements with suppliers to achieve optimal value and risk mitigation. Present strategic recommendations and business cases to executive leadership with compelling narratives supported by rigorous financial and qualitative analysis.
The position manages supplier relationships throughout the contract lifecycle, monitoring performance against established KPIs and addressing performance issues or service gaps. Collaborates with internal stakeholders including operations, finance, legal, and business unit leaders to understand requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals.
They ensure compliance with procurement policies, contract terms, and applicable regulations while maintaining appropriate documentation and audit trails. Contribute to the development of procurement standards, playbooks, and training materials. Represent the procurement function on strategic initiatives and task forces requiring Sourcing expertise.
Additional responsibilities include analyzing spend data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, leading cross-functional sourcing teams for complex initiatives, and developing supplier scorecards and performance metrics. The role also involves staying current on market conditions, pricing trends, and industry best practices to inform sourcing decisions.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, finance, or related field.
The position requires at least 5 years of progressive procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in facilities management, real estate, professional services, or related industries.
Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated success achieving cost savings and favorable contract terms are essential.
Proven experience managing strategic supplier relationships and conducting competitive sourcing processes is required.
The role demands excellent analytical skills with proficiency in spend analysis and data-driven decision making.
Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
Proficiency with procurement systems, contract management platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Intermediate/Expert in Excel) is expected.
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills are critical, along with understanding of contract law, risk management, and procurement best practices.
Strong understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and risk management principles.
