This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

 

POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Nuclear Engineering at Penn State invites applications for an Assistant Research Professor position that focuses on the growth of nuclear engineering in the advanced nuclear reactor space. The successful candidate will help establish expertise in the department in the field of computational thermal-hydraulics and will work closely with current departmental faculty in thermal-hydraulics.

The Assistant Research Professor should possess a terminal degree or its equivalent in an academic field related to their research. Alternatively, the Assistant Research Professor without a terminal degree should possess at least a master's degree or its equivalent in an academic field related to his/her teaching specialization; must have demonstrated ability as a researcher; and must have shown evidence of professional growth and scholarship in their discipline. Degrees in nuclear engineering or a closely related field are preferred.
