Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly motivated individual for employment as a Project Controls Document Specialist in the Miami, Florida office. We are searching for a candidate with a background and an interest in providing varied key support activities to project managers and multidiscipline design teams on diverse projects.

As a Project Controls Document Specialist II, you will learn and be active in the building design and engineering process, while learning on the job project management skills from working directly with our Project Managers and teams.
Candidates should be quick and avid learners, have strong organizational skills, attention to detail for information and documents, strong writing and editing skills, and genuinely enjoy scheduling and managing tasks and people.
The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Assisting with project planning and setup documents along with monitoring progress of project submittals including design, quality control, and review periods.
- Coordinating with project teams for the preparation of various deliverables such as studies, reports, drawings, cost estimates, design analyses, and supporting documentation.
- Becoming proficient in the specialized 'MasterSpec' specification software used for projects and be point of contact with our various technical leads in preparing project specifications.
- Attending project meetings, both internal and with clients, and documenting decisions and actions needed along with responsibilities, for distribution to the team.
- During bidding and construction periods of projects, monitoring contractor submittals and questions requiring review by our technical and management staff.
- Assisting with preparation of presentation materials for client meetings.
- Providing support for Business Development efforts such as tracking RFQ’s/RFP’s announcements and for Marketing efforts associated with responding to RFQ’s/RFP’s.
- Prepare documents such as studies and reports
- Proficiently produce spreadsheets, word processing, and other office software as well as other layout, formatting, document processing software is a plus
- Work in a deadline intensive environment
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS and 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Experience using Microsoft suite of business software
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience in positions of increasing responsibilities
- Demonstrated writing skills; professional sample may be requested at interview
- Experience using Adobe “InDesign” software
- Previous experience planning and organizing tasks and teams in a fast-paced environment
