Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director, Family Engagement - Boca Raton, FL
Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible to the Director of New Student Transitions & Family Engagement at Boca Raton. Includes the supervision of professional and student staff. Responsible for adhering to state and university regulations and compliance with new student orientation.
Supervises family activities and processes for supporters of undergraduate students, including organizing large-scale family events such as Owl Family Weekend, Parliament Café’s, spring family events.
Works in hand with the Director to oversee the process of Family Engagement for all new families university-wide. Provides support for the programs at FAU’s Northern and Broward campuses as applicable.
Oversee effective, timely, and responsive communication and outreach efforts, including branding, website, social media, and other publications and artifacts, including Family Handbook and Official Family Facebook Group.
Work in coordination with the Director for Campus ESP communications and family. Lead on monthly newsletter.
Oversee family hotline and Owl Family Scholarship processes.
Serve as liaison to campus partners to serve as the voice for families University-wide.
Volunteer in university-wide initiatives such as “Need Help? Just Ask” campaign.
Represent the department on campus committees.
Supervise graduate and undergraduate level staff, when available.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
