About the role
The Orchard is seeking an entrepreneurial individual to join its Artist & Label Partnerships team. The Associate Director, Artist & Label Partnerships will be responsible for content signings, and will join a team of closers, working both individually and collaboratively to source and close deals on behalf of The Orchard and its portfolio of in-house brands.
What you'll do
- Identify new content acquisition opportunities in Miami-based, Latin genres.
- Coordinate globally with Orchard staff for pitches with potential artist and label signings.
- Identify additional opportunities to grow The Orchard’s catalog.
- Create and manage your own deal flow using Salesforce, inputting contractual rights and managing feature controls.
- Partner with internal team of analysts to ensure accurate information is leveraged for all financial modeling.
- Drive drafting deals with Legal directly, where appropriate.
- Assemble all necessary materials to support the deal process. This is inclusive of proformas, pitch decks, onesheets and workstation videos.
- Act as a conduit between Legal and Label Management and communicate all necessary deal information to ensure an excellent client on-boarding experience.
- Bring in direct artist and label deals (distribution and A&LS) and referrals to existing Orchard labels across multiple genres.
- Build strong relationships with artists and artist management.
- Foster and coordinate connections between our label and artist partners locally and globally.
- Coordinate with the global Orchard Artist Services team to support global priorities in the US Latin, Caribbean and Central America territories.
- Support the client with ad hoc troubleshooting and issues, working closely with label management as needed to shepherd them through opportunities across the company.
- Bring support in release strategy and artist development to our label, management and artist partners.
- Collaborate with The Orchard’s Brand team to educate the organization about priorities and wins.
- Representing The Orchard in meetings, at shows, and on calls with artist management and bands/brands.
- Attend industry events, artist shows and meetings to grow your network and elevate The Orchard’s profile.
- Analyze the impact of all spending, marketing, and promotional activity, and put together materials to communicate findings to wider artist services vertical and management.
- Liaise with various internal departments, from finance to marketing, to ensure client partner business needs are met.
Who you are
- Fluency in both written and verbal Spanish.
- Proven track record sourcing leads and building relationships that ultimately result in new business.
- Network of creators across the independent label and artist community, the ability to spot trends early, and outside the mainstream.
- Ability to source new opportunities through research, social media, attending live shows and events, and building a referral community.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business (i.e., Executive, Marketing, Label Personnel, Legal).
- Close potential opportunities and manage ongoing high level client relationships.
- Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
- High proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint with the ability to analyze data and build presentation worthy decks.
- Must be well organized and be able to support many tasks at once with tight deadlines.
- Must have impeccable follow-up and follow-through capabilities.
- Strong understanding of music and entertainment paired with prior work experience in the industry.
- Entrepreneurial, driven and self-sufficient.
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of content marketing, consumption habits, fan communication, tools, methods, and social trends.
- Ability to be both creative and data-driven.
- Proven ability to source and cultivate relationships with third parties.
- Strong experience and understanding of the local music industry and digital landscape.
- Excellent knowledge of the digital space, including music retail, analytics and social media, with an ability to adapt to a constantly changing landscape.
- Passionate about Independent music, with a willingness to attend industry events and shows.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required and willingness and ability to travel as the business needs dictate.
