Summer 2026 Technology Facilities Engineering Intern

Summary:

As a Technology Facilities Intern, you will support critical maintenance and capital projects across our Waterford and Niskayuna sites, gaining hands-on experience in facility operations and process improvement. You will lead initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency, and data management, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to real-world infrastructure upgrades.

Responsibilities Include:

Niskayuna OneS Project Execution

• Build the structure and implement selected SAP Maintenance Modules for the Niskayuna Site. Full slide deck will be provided. 

• Equipment record development

• BOM’s as needed

• Training

Waterford to Niskayuna Lab Transition Support:           

• Organization of PRO’s (Facilities Procedures)

• EHS procedures/functionality

• Lab chemical safety

• Develop Waste Handling process flow

Lead Portions of a Mid-Size CapEx Project:

• Niskayuna Maintenance Shop Rehabilitation

• T-TW-24-0857 18mm Lab Extruder Installation

• Gravelometer Equipment Commissioning

EHS Focused Improvements:

• Plan and Facilitate Safety Governance Council

• Chemical Hygiene Plan – review & update

• ISO Audit Preparations

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Independent worker with excellent time management skills

• Technical & Mechanical aptitude for evaluating and solving complex problems in both industrial and laboratory settings

Program Qualifications:

• The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.

• The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.

What We Offer:

Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
