Cleveland Clinic’s Westlake Medical Campus provides a wide range of outpatient healthcare services, including primary care, pediatrics, and family medicine, along with numerous specialties such as orthopaedics, gynecology, ophthalmology, podiatry, vascular medicine, audiology, and sleep medicine. The facility also offers diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, physical therapy, and a retail optical shop. Designed to deliver comprehensive care in a convenient community setting, the campus supports routine, preventive, and specialty care needs while offering easy access to additional Cleveland Clinic resources and specialists when more advanced care is required.
Patient Service Specialists deliver what matters most to our patients and their families, ensure exceptional experiences and thrive on making positive impacts in the community. This position is critical to patient scheduling, check-in, and check-out processes. As a Patient Service Specialist, you will greet patients, verify registration information, collect co-pays and ensure that scheduled visits occur in a timely manner.
A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
This position will be located at Westlake Medical Office Building and will float to Fairview Hospital as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide a comprehensive, proactive and “Patients First” experience for patients and visitors.
Investigate, triage and resolve patient issues using the established HEART model.
Create a welcome and professional environment, interact with patients and ensure stellar patient experiences.
Perform patient registration, visit preparation, telephone triage, insurance verification, co-pay collection, patient and record tracking, scheduling, arrival and/or departure desk activities and screening and scheduling of interpreter services.
Enter and maintain confidential patient information.
Recruit, enroll and educate patients on MyChart and Appointment Pass.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance processing or customer service OR Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree
Ability to perform basic math sufficient to process insurance co-pays
Working knowledge of PC window applications
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Knowledge of medical terminology
Customer service or hospitality experience
Ability to type 30 WPM and/or computer keyboard skills

Physical Requirements:
Dexterity sufficient to operate a PC and other office equipment.
Requires extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
