About the role

Meet Upside:

We created Upside to transform brick-and-mortar commerce. Our technology uses the sophistication of online retail—profit measurement, attribution, and incrementality—to provide users with more value on their everyday purchases and brick-and-mortar businesses with new, profitable customers. We've helped millions of users earn 2 to 3 times more cashback than any other product, and hundreds of thousands of brick-and-mortar businesses earn measurable profit. Billions of dollars in commerce run through the Upside platform every year, and that value goes directly back to our retailer partners, the consumers they serve, and important sustainability initiatives.

The Impact You’ll Make:

We are looking for a Head of Product Marketing & Growth Marketing for the entire consumer business, reporting to the CMO/President. You'll join an already successful business, and shape our expansion from a single-vertical solution into a multi-vertical platform as we look to acquire and retain new customers with unique wants and needs.

You will develop a best-in-class Product Marketing & Growth Marketing strategy to drive consumer product adoption, customer engagement, and revenue growth across the entire lifecycle. You will lead all aspects of the company's product marketing efforts, including: product positioning, go-to-market strategy, competitive analysis, and product launch execution.

  • Lead the development of the team, focused on product positioning, go-to-market strategy, product launch execution, and the processes necessary to establish a world-class Product Marketing function for all of Upside’s consumer offerings.
  • Build quarterly road maps of critical product marketing plans to support product launches, enhance customer engagement, and contribute to company growth goals.
  • Lead your team in setting a learning agenda based on analyzing performance metrics, identifying market trends, and prioritizing the most impactful programs.
  • Foster professional development for all team members and ensure a supportive work environment that encourages collaboration and new ideas.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams that align with product marketing strategies—this includes partnerships with Product Management, Sales, Analytics, Legal, Customer Success, and other teams.
  • Interpret performance metrics, identify trends, and prioritize opportunities for revenue growth through enhanced product messaging, customer segmentation, and optimized marketing plans.
  • Report product marketing results to the broader marketing leadership team, using insights to improve strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Oversee the experimental and test-and-learn budget to ensure Upside is involved in new, innovative ideas related to product marketing best practices and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities for marketing automation using internal and external tools. Be the strategic lead in exploring AI and ML integration into product marketing efforts to enhance personalization and efficiency.

What You Should Have:

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience in product marketing, go-to-market strategy, and positioning.
  • Proven track record of driving product adoption, customer engagement, and measurable revenue growth based on customer insights. Proficient in quantitative analysis, an affinity for data, and experience using complex information to inform decision-making
  • Proficiency in product marketing tools and related technologies; experience with product analytics platforms like Fullstory, HotJar, or Amplitude
  • Knowledge of marketing technology with experience using automation and analytics in collaboration with product and engineering teams
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills for effectively conveying product value propositions to diverse audiences
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, a sense of ownership, and the ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Expertise in managing Executive Team expectations.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, multi-task, and engage in team-based planning processes
  • 7+ years of experience managing direct reports with diverse skills and multiple years of experience
