What you will be doing in the role of Human Resources Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing a wide range of HR functions within Susan G. Komen. The role supports multiple aspects of employee experience including compliance, HRIS maintenance and employee relations. The HR Generalist will help to align Komen HR practices with organizational goals while ensuring legal compliance and promoting a positive workplace culture.
The Human Resources Generalist acts as a key point of contact with employees and managers. They play a strategic role in shaping workforce policies and support organization-wide initiatives and are responsible for maintaining compliance with labor laws, enforcing workplace policies, and contributing to the creation of a positive and productive work environment.
What you will bring to the table
- Maintain compliance log on Federal / State / Local laws relevant to the organization for review with Director, Human Resources. May conduct appropriate audits to ensure compliance. Help to maintain an up-to-date employee handbook.
- Serve as additional security support on HR Information system (HRIS). Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within the HRIS. This includes updating personal details, tracking employment history, and ensuring documentation is current and compliant.
- Manage the organizational unemployment process, i.e., responses, hearings and processing reimbursable state invoices.
- Execute company processes and policies surrounding the separation of employment.
- Attach separation and disciplinary information in HRIS.
- Advise management and employees regarding policy interpretation.
- Assist the Director, Human Resources with the administration of the performance review process. This includes tracking goals and feedback.
- Assist the Director, Human Resources with confidential investigations, collaborate on the appropriate remediation according to applicable laws and regulations and maintain and prepare investigation documentation, if needed.
- Attend involuntary termination notification meetings, if needed.
- Assist in resolving workplace conflicts, if needed, and promote a positive work environment.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to explain policies, resolve conflicts, and foster trust with employees and leadership alike.
- Strong listening and relationship-building abilities are critical to managing sensitive conversations and maintaining a positive workplace culture.
- Thorough understanding of employment regulations, such as the FLSA, FMLA, and anti-discrimination laws. Must ensure company policies align with current legal standards.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle the mix of administrative and strategic responsibilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
- Knowledge & experience with UKG Ready systems is a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of previous experience.
