Senior Group Financial Controller

We are looking for a Senior Financial Controller based in our Espoo office.

Our purpose is to secure access to cleaner energy for our customers. We help them navigate the energy transition towards continuously reducing emissions. Our areas of expertise are biogas, liquefied biogas (LBG), natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and electricity markets. We own and operate biogas plants and an extensive network of gas filling stations in the Nordic countries. Our customers include industry and businesses that use a lot of energy as well as maritime and land transport providers.

As a Senior Financial Controller, you will support, coordinate, and develop group consolidation and reporting processes in monthly, quarterly and annual actual cycles. You will participate on coordinating development and change in accounting/reporting tools, processes, finance systems, and ways of working. You will act as IFRS and FAS in-house specialist for legal entities and Business Units.

Main responsibilities in the role are

• Perform Group consolidation and reporting tasks and participate on month-end closings and interim reporting.
• Provide technical IFRS and FAS accounting support to finance colleagues and support business units with finance and internal control related topics.
• Oversee the accounting and financial reporting processes, ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations and accounting principles.
• Lead and coordinate process development by automating, standardizing and harmonizing the financial processes and improving financial reporting
• Collaborate with the finance teams in an international environment, including for example helping with reporting instructions, analysis, and inquiries.

What we expect from you

• Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar
• 5+ years relevant job experience, ideally from financial controlling or audit background in an international dynamic environment. Prior experience from energy companies and tasks on group consolidation and reporting is a seen as advantage
• Excellent knowledge of financial processes, controlling and reporting
• Proven fluency in both FAS and IFRS
• Result orientation with an eye for the right level of detail
• Hands on attitude, positive and proactive mindset and good communication skills
• Proven analytical skills and ability to balance several priorities and projects under pressure in changing environment
• Relevant systems skills (HFM, etc. finance systems) and expert in using MS Office (Excel), previous consolidation tool experience is seen as advantage
• Fluent verbal and written skills in English and Finnish, comfortability working in a global team
