Job Description 

Local Title:  Maintenance Technician 

Status:  ​Hourly​ 

UltiPro Title: Maintenance Operator 

Location:  ​Mebane​ 

Manager Title: Maintenance Manager 

Grade:  BC 

Job Summary:  

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment to prevent equipment downtime. This will include performing preventative services and maintenance procedures and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. Work is often performed as part of a team but may be required to perform maintenance tasks without assistance.   

Job Responsibilities 

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) checks and document according to department procedures 

• Troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues 

• Demonstrate ability to operate equipment needed to perform troubleshooting of maintenance issues 

• Perform equipment and facility repairs as needed 

• Perform basic metal working 

• Perform industrial electrical troubleshooting and repairs 

• Perform electronics troubleshooting and coordinate with Maintenance Manager repair of electronics equipment 

• Perform hydraulics/pneumatics troubleshooting and repairs 

• Participate in continuous improvement activities 

Job Qualifications and Requirements  

• High school diploma or equivalent required.  Certification and/or Degree in a maintenance field preferred. 

• At least 1 year of job-related experience required, preferably in manufacturing environment 

• Ability to apply math concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions to practical maintenance situations
