POSITION SUMMARY:
• The Senior Network Engineer reports to the Director, NetComm Operations
• Located in Mansfield, MA
• Full-Time
• Hybrid
The Senior Network Engineer owns the architecture, strategy, design, security, and operational excellence of national enterprise networks spanning corporate offices, distribution centers, data centers, and cloud environments. This role serves as a senior technical leader responsible for ensuring secure, highly available, and scalable network services that support business-critical operations. This position carries significant influence over enterprise network standards and long-term architecture decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, deploy, and support enterprise LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi infrastructure across geographically distributed locations serving corporate offices, distribution centers, and data center environments.
• Lead ongoing optimization and performance management of the Cato SD-WAN environment, including policy management, site onboarding, and security service configuration.
• Architect and maintain secure, scalable network solutions aligned with business needs and operational demands across a 2,800+ endpoint environment.
• Strengthen network security posture in partnership with the Security team, with emphasis on network segmentation, Zero Trust principles, and hardening standards.
• Lead lifecycle management initiatives including hardware refreshes, firmware upgrades, and technology modernization roadmaps.
• Serve as the Tier 3 escalation resource and own root cause analysis and post-incident review for major network events.
• Drive improvements in network monitoring, alerting, and observability across the enterprise.
• Create and maintain detailed, accurate network documentation including topology diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation and is expected to support after-hours maintenance windows as needed. Given the national scope of the environment and the criticality of network availability to distributions operations, candidates should be comfortable with occasional evening and weekend commitments.

• Expert-level proficiency in advanced network design principles, protocols, and technologies.
• Proven experience in configuring and optimizing intricate and advanced network devices.
• Exceptional project leadership skills, demonstrated through a history of successful execution of complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of advanced network security principles and compliance standards.
• Outstanding troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills at an advanced level.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience in a distributed, multi-site environment.
• Direct, hands-on experience with Cato SD-WAN is a meaningful differentiator and candidates with production Cato deployment and management experience are strongly preferred.
• Strong Cisco/Meraki switching and routing experience with working knowledge of OSPF, BGP, VLANs, and QoS; Cisco Meraki certifications (ECMS1/ECMS2) preferred.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, or equivalent are preferred.
• Enterprise wireless design, deployment, and optimization experience, particularly in high-density environments. Proven ability to resolve high-impact incidents under pressure while communicating clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
